Two years ago, my husband made the twins toy boxes for their first birthday. I designed the them and my husband created them. My original thought was to use the chalkboard paint on the front of them so they both have their own place to draw. I have had the paint since then and every time I think to make that a weekend project, I decide against it once I think of the clean up involved, needing the outdoor space with good weather, the hassle of keeping the kids away from it, etc.
I was so excited when I was given the opportunity to review Appliance Art’s chalkboard vinyl.
This was a much better option than the chalkboard paint! My weekend project suddenly became a 15 minute task to do while they were napping. The Chalkboard vinyl was easy to measure, mark, and even apply. Appliance Art even provides you with instructions and the application tool to get the job done. Now, we are finally done with the toy boxes (besides the safety hinges for Kassadi’s lid).

Then, of course, I applied the chalkboard vinyl to Kassadi and Gavin’s toy boxes and Conner wanted his done too. It was so easy to apply, I assisted Conner (age 5) to put it on.
I also cut smaller pieces to apply to Kassadi’s locker and my desk to write notes…a perfect alternative to those sticky notes that fall off (or are removed by little hands).
That is what we used our vinyl for. But the chalkboard vinyl can actually be applied to any flat surface…of course, including appliances. If you’re a parent, you’ve probably watched Disney’s Good Luck Charlie, right? Well, did you notice their refrigerator on the show? Yup! That’s chalkboard vinyl. You could apply this to table tops and walls too.
You can also order decorative appliance panels, custom panels, and dry erase panels from Appliance Art.
Or, are you remodeling??? Can’t afford matching stainless steel appliances? No worries…

This product looks awesome! I want to use it on my coffee table, which is super duper ugly. My girls love to color on the table, but have trouble keeping crayons on paper. It would be great to give them chalk and let them go to town on the table itself!
